Buccaneers rookie report as the 2019 class is starting to click

The sixth round draft pick for the Bucs (and the last player on this list as the seventh round pick is no longer on the team) is speedster Scotty Miller from Bowling Green. Miller falls right around where he was expected to be on draft night if not under achieving just a little bit. Miller was drafted to be a replacement to Adam Humphries and is not far off from reaching that mark.
Miller is essentially the fourth receiver on the depth chart as of now behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin (who are both Pro Bowlers and perhaps All-Pro’s) and Breshad Perriman who has seen an uptick in his level of play as of recent. Humphries was mostly the third receiver or fourth receiver and was mixed in with DeSean Jackson and a younger Chris Godwin. Miller is not far off from this mark and still potentially has the ability to make it to that third spot on the depth chart.
Miller’s stats don’t jump off the page at anyone but he has been consistent when the ball is in his hands. Miller has 151 yards on 10 catches which is impressive considering the lion’s share that Chris Godwin and Mike Evans receive. Miller is still behind Perriman but has the ability to step into a role with more reps which should not be too hard considering his impressive speed. Look for Miller to become another important part of one of the best offenses in the league.
