A plan without the man

It’s a tough blow for a team that has been gaining some late-season momentum. However, the reality is that the Buccaneers were eliminated from this year’s NFL Playoffs despite their victory over the Colts. With their win, the Minnesota Vikings ejected the Bucs from contention, meaning in many ways the season is already over for Tampa Bay.

However, pressure remains on the active players to prove their worth going into next season. The majority of that pressure lies on the back of Jameis Winston, as Arians was non-committal when asked about keeping Winston into the 2020 NFL season.

Now, as he tries to prove himself in the last two games of the season, Jameis Winston is without one of his most trustworthy targets. It also provides an opportunity for other players like Chris Godwin, Breshad Perriman, Dare Ogunbowale, and Ronald Jones II to step up much the way they did in this game.

Next. Jameis Winston is a a true enigma under center. dark

Evans has an ability to make catches and create plays that probably shouldn’t even be possible, which means losing him removes a safety blanket from Winston as he tries to earn a contract for 2020. Look for others to try and step up in these final games, but keep your eyes on Winston to see how he manages in these final games.
