Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 questions to answer in final three games
The Bucs have had one of the worst secondaries this season and they recently released former first-round pick Vernon Hargreaves. The question everyone should be asking is what is the future at cornerback?
To say they struggled this season is an understatement, they have been torched by almost everyone they have played this season. With that said, the corners are very young and most of them are 22, or 23 years old so there is still some potential for them to get better. If able to stay healthy, Jamel Dean looks like he may be able to have a role on the team in the future.
Bruce Arians will be closely observing each cornerback’s play for the remainder of the season. A lot of these players will be on the roster come next season because of their age and potential but they will be fighting for playing time. Expect the Bucs to try to improve this position in the draft or in free agency.
These remaining three games are a chance for these players to show Arians and his staff that they belong in the team’s future plans and it’s up to them to show what they’ve got. Look for the team to try to shake up this secondary for the rest of the season by playing players in different spots to find out more about each player.
