Buccaneers vs. Lions: 4 matchups to keep an eye on
By Jamil King
Jameis Winston vs. himself
With questions swirling around whether Jameis Winston is the answer going forward, these last three games and the next three will be huge for him and his future in Tampa Bay. By now, it is obvious what you are going to get with Winston: a lot of yards and touchdowns that will come with a side of turnovers; it is like a combo meal.
The Bucs have won three games in a row with the highs and lows of Winston, proving that with the improved defense, they can win with him; If Winston is able to play this weekend, then all eyes will again be on him. Without star wideout Mike Evans more focus will be on Chris Godwin, that means guys like Justin Wason and Breshad Perriman will need to step up.
Even though the Lions defense is ranked near the bottom if Winston is able to have his way with the secondary with his own secondary options, that can go a long way for him. Look for Godwin to continue on his career year, especially with Evans out; can Watson and Perriman continue to step up as well for the Buccaneers?
Kickoff is tomorrow as the Bucs look to make it four in a row.
