4. Shore up the offensive line

When the offensive line for Tampa Bay went into a game day banged up with injuries this year, the depth was nowhere near NFL caliber and a few of the starters weren’t cutting it either. The right side of the line in Alex Cappa and Demar Dotson need to be immediately addressed via free agency and/or the draft.

Cappa was definitely not ready for a full season’s work starting at right guard.  He seemed over-matched against elite teams and looks a year or two away from being starting caliber. At the right tackle position, it just may be time for Demar Dotson to hang up the cleats.

The longest tenured member of the Buccaneers organization took a huge step back in production in 2019. Enough so that he shouldn’t be back on the roster in 2020. Joining the Buccaneers in 2009 as an undrafted agent, Dotson has held down the fort at the right tackle position for the better part of a decade.

However, Father Time has run it’s course and Demar should depart from Tampa Bay with his held high and integrity intact. With a decently equipped offensive line in 2020, however, Ronald Jones may be able to finally breakout next season and offensive balance will be restored.
