The quarterback position for the Buccaneers over the last five years has been one of great contention amongst the fans and media across the country. Jameis Winston has been incredibly divisive and with good reason. After the first 30 interception/30 touchdown in NFL history many fans have started to call for the team to move on from Jameis. While the most likely situation is that the Bucs keep Jameis for another year, Tampa Bay would be wise to at least consider taking a quarterback as most of the free agents are questionable in a Bruce Arians system which is why it is third on this list.

Jameis is the best bet for the Bucs to win in 2020 but at a certain point the interceptions become a massive detraction in his game. Assuming the defense continues to take the necessary steps the interceptions may be more manageable but Bruce Arians would be wise to not tie his ship to Jameis just yet. Drafting a quarterback does not mean that the Bucs are moving on but it would be a good precaution to take.

The 2020 quarterback class is an intriguing one with several unique options that will be available outside of Day 1. The Bucs have a defense that is growing and that needs to be preserved which means that the Buccaneers can afford to use a pick to provide better depth at quarterback outside of Ryan Griffin who should not lead a team and Blaine Gabbert who has never flashed as a player.
