In the second round of this mock draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be filling the hole that will likely be left by the departure of Ndamukong Suh. Suh’s cost will just be too high and the Buccaneers have a higher chance of finding better, cheaper talent in the draft.

Blacklock may not be as flashy as names like Derrick Brown and Javon Kinlaw, but he can prove to be a consistent piece of a defense that is already built around him.

To be frank, Blacklock wouldn’t have to play at an extremely high level to replicate Ndamukong Suh’s level of success in 2019 and would come as a far cheaper option.

Blacklock is of comparable size to Suh and would be able to display a similar skillset both against the pass and the run. With the way that the Buccaneer defensive line is constructed, Blacklock would start out with help from the likes of Vita Vea (who was the primary contributor) and William Gholston.

The Buccaneer run defense is one of the best in the league and while he would primarily be a run blocker, Ross Blacklock has the ability to put pressure on the quarterback.

In his final year at TCU, Blacklock was able to accumulate 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss, showcasing just how dominant he is at creating penetration against opposing offensive lines.
