Ha Ha Clinton-Dix may be one of the most underrated safeties in all of football. He has played at a consistently high level for the duration of his career yet he would still be one of the cheaper veteran free agent safeties.

Over the course of his six years in the NFL, Clinton-Dix has 16 interceptions, 33 passes defended, 522 tackles, and 5.5 sacks.

It is almost astounding that a player that averages 2.6 interceptions, 5.5 passes defended, and 87 tackles per year would bounce around as much as he has, but this is what gives the Buccaneers a great opportunity to snag a very talented and consistent safety.

Clinton-Dix’s most recent one year deal was for less than six million for the season, a price that the Buccaneers should be happy to pay.

Clinton-Dix would come to Tampa Bay and immediately be a starter and a leader in the secondary. Clinton-Dix has played at a very high level for his career and could surely be a teacher to many of the young corners and safeties on the Buccaneer roster.

It also should be noted that this move makes sense because it would bring Ha Ha Clinton-Dix back to his home state of Florida. In this move the Buccaneers would get a great player and wouldn’t have to totally break the bank.
