The third pick in this draft would be used on one of the biggest positions of need: offensive tackle. Saahdiq Charles would be a perfect acquisition for the Buccaneers in the third round and would help replace the aging Demar Dotson.

The Buccaneer offensive line was far from stellar in 2019 and some of the blame falls on the shoulders of the tackles Dotson and Donovan Smith.

The best bet for the Buccaneers to succeed in 2020 is for them to quickly address this problem on the line. It is likely time for the Buccaneers to move on from Demar Dotson for several reasons and the Bucs could draft Saahdiq Charles as a way of replacing Dotson while also freeing up some cap space.

Another move that Tampa Bay could make is to play Charles at left tackle and move Donovan Smith to right tackle if Charles can play at a high level.

This draft selection may be a little late for the Buccaneers regarding their need at tackle but it is certainly possible that a very talented tackle would fall to the third round with all of the depth that is present in the draft.

While this situation wouldn’t be preferable to taking a tackle in a higher round for a more proven pick, Saahdiq Charles was able to prove his immense talent while at LSU and would immediately help improve the Buccaneer run game.
