Jameis Winston had LASIK eye surgery, but the latest NFL Mock Draft from Bleacher Report still has the Buccaneers selecting a QB.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have some important decisions to make when it comes to the quarterback position over the course of the next few weeks.

The Buccaneers are more than likely going to elect to re-sign QB Jameis Winston using the franchise tag to evaluate him for one more season. Winston reportedly had LASIK eye surgery to correct some of his vision problems that may have plagued him in season’s past.

In addition to the prospect or re-signing Winston, the Buccaneers are reportedly exploring options in free agency and could take a player in the upcoming NFL Draft should they be sold on a particular prospect having the talent to take over in the future.

Though Winston had the eye procedure, the latest NFL Mock Draft from Bleacher Report had the Buccaneers selecting QB Jordan Love (Utah State) with the No. 14 overall pick.

Bleacher Report’s mock has three offensive tackles going in the top-10 (Jedrick Wills Jr. at No. 4, Tristan Wirfs at No. 7, and Mekhi Becton at No. 10). The Buccaneers are speculated to be most interested in selecting an offensive tackle in the first round.

The Mock Draft had the Buccaneers passing on OT Andrew Thomas– who was the only OT of the top 4 prospects available at pick 14- and electing to take Love as a way to build for the future and assumingly move on from Winston.

At this point, I don’t think that’s very likely. It’s looking more and more probably that the Buccaneers will re-sign Winston, look to draft an offensive tackle in the first round and then address other positions in later rounds.

Tampa Bay could consider a QB later in the draft as a potential project, but the overall likelihood that the franchise goes QB in the first-round is looking less and less likely as we approach the franchise tag deadline.
