Buccaneers: Chances anyone other than Jameis Winston is the QB in 2020
Option 1: Sign Philip Rivers
Option 1 is what you’ve heard rumored quite a bit and the most popular theory among national media for what the Buccaneers will do at quarterback.
In this scenario, Tampa Bay would sign QB Philip Rivers to a two-year deal making somewhere in the vicinity of $20-$25 million per year.
The Buccaneers would then pursue a quarterback in either this year’s or next year’s NFL Draft to become the ‘future of the franchise.’
Signing Rivers and putting some pieces around him may be good enough for Tampa Bay to compete for a playoff spot in the next two seasons, and then you never know what will happen once you make it to the postseason.
