The second pick in this mock draft is used to address the inside of the defensive line.

The Buccaneers could potentially not re-sign Ndamukong Suh due to his expensive price tag and they will need to use a higher round pick to keep their defense rolling.

Suh wasn’t great in 2019 even though he was a part of several great moments and it wouldn’t be out of the question for a rookie to play at that same level or better. A player like Raekwon Davis would be exactly what the Buccaneers need with their second-round pick.

Davis fits the size profile of an inside defensive lineman for a 3-4 defense perfectly. Davis weighs in right around 312 pounds and will size up nicely alongside Vita Vea.

While his sophomore season was one of the more impressive in college football while at Alabama with 8.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss, Davis has regressed in terms of production and would get drafted based on potential rather than his most recent results.

Davis finished his final two seasons at Alabama with only two sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss. Regardless of these less than stellar numbers, Davis would be able to serve as a run-stuffer which is mostly what Suh was called to do.

The Buccaneer defense doesn’t need other-worldly penetration from the interior defensive line as it already has Shaquil Barrett and would mostly call upon Davis to keep the rush defense at the top tier where it currently sits.
