NFL Analyst Clay Travis weighed in on the decision the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to make pertaining to QB Jameis Winston.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will soon have to come to a conclusion about the future of QB Jameis Winston and there are certainly mixed returns as to what the organization will and should do.

Many Buccaneers fans are ready to see the franchise part ways with the quarterback in favor of chasing another prospect in the draft and signing a veteran free-agent. Others want Winston to have another season and see the tremendous upside in his game should he find a way to get the turnovers under control.

Fox Sports Analyst Clay Travis weighed in on the situation and made the point that Winston had been around for five years and there shouldn’t be a question as to what the Buccaneers want to do moving forward.

Whether or not you want Winston to return, you have to admit that this is a decent point at least looking at it from the front-office’s perspective.

If the Buccaneers were sold out to having Jameis Winston as the franchise quarterback, they wouldn’t be continuously seeking out every other option.

Does the organization like Winston? Yes. They’ve made it clear that they believe they can win with Winston and that he can improve. But that doesn’t mean that Winston is the first-choice for Bruce Arians or Jason Licht.

The majority of analysts around the NFL believe that Winston will ultimately return to Tampa Bay, but it’s not because the Buccaneers are 100 percent sold-out to him at this point. Tampa Bay is continuing to keep its ears to the ground and exploring all options.

No matter what you believe about what the Buccaneers should do in this situation, the truth is that Tampa Bay has legitimate questions about Winston and they haven’t fully committed to him as the franchise quarterback.

Is Winston ‘the guy?’ Only time will tell. But there’s certainly uncertainty coming from the front-office perspective.
