The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made it clear that they want to explore all of their options at quarterback and that’s a dangerous game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly exploring all of their options when it comes to filling the quarterback position for the 2020 season.

The Buccaneers are considering re-signing QB Jameis Winston, potentially with the franchise tag, but that’s becoming less and less likely as we head down the stretch. Instead, the organization is seemingly willing to let Winston explore the free market while they take a shot at some of the other veteran free-agent quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Teddy Bridgewater and Philip Rivers.

No matter what Buccaneers fans want to see the organization do, the truth is that this is a dangerous game moving forward. The reward can be great, but the risk is also going to be great.

Most analysts believe that Winston’s market value will be diminished if he’s allowed to walk, but how do we know that there aren’t a few organizations who are willing to take the chance on him as a young option with a potential upside?

Though the Buccaneers are showing interest in Brady, Bridgewater and Rivers, who’s to say that Tampa Bay isn’t outbid for those options or that the Bucs aren’t made the first priority for those free agents?

There are a lot of ‘what-if’ scenarios that could play out and that leaves Tampa in a dangerous situation.

No matter what the decision ends up being, the franchise must tread carefully as it moves through the offseason.
