Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Big name trade targets to go after
By Rob Leeds
While it is easy to pile on the Texans and Bill O’Brien, the Jacksonville Jaguars have made their share of questionable moves over the last few months.
What was once one of the best teams in the AFC has now apparently shifted towards a complete rebuild with almost none of their players from their AFC Championship run still on the roster.
After trading away many of their defensive players and with Yannick Ngakoue requesting an out from Jacksonville, it seems likely that a full rebuild is very quickly coming up.
One player that the Buccaneers should inquire about is Leonard Fournette. While he seems like one player that the Jags would look to keep, with the previous moves taken into account it’s hard to tell what the reception to this offer would be.
Jacksonville has traded away many of their top defensive players for mostly middle of the pack draft picks and it shouldn’t be a far-fetched conclusion that Leonard Fourtnette may want an out from a team that is going to tank or have to go through a rebuild.
Much like Watson, there is a very good chance that Leonard Fourtnette could try to demand a trade out of Jacksonville and Tampa Bay should jump on that opportunity.
Fournette is a proven running back and was a sneaky top-five receiving back in 2019, finishing fifth in receiving yards and receptions amongst running backs.
If given the opportunity, the Buccaneers should jump on the chance to bring in Fournette, especially if they could get him for a third or fourth-round pick.
This move would give the Bucs some more depth at running back and would take the pressure off of drafting a running back.
