Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Big name trade targets to go after
By Rob Leeds
Not to pile on the Texans too much, but if they were willing to trade DeAndre Hopkins for nothing one must ask where the line is drawn.
The Texans now have running backs David Johnson and Duke Johnson on their roster, two players that both largely have the same skillset.
While there is a chance that Houston decides to keep both, the Texans could decide to move on from Duke Johnson for cheap if his workload is going to diminish heavily with David Johnson on the roster.
To again address running back, the Buccaneers could try to buy low on Duke Johnson.
Johnson has been consistent during his time in the league as a pass-catcher and he would be a good compliment alongside Ronald Jones.
Johnson wouldn’t need a massive share of the touches but would help improve the Buccaneer pass game and on third-down situations.
The Buccaneers would probably be best off if they went for a more dynamic running back in the draft, but Duke Johnson is another proven running back that the Bucs could likely bring in for very cheap.
If they were to make this trade, the Buccaneers would get a very efficient running back that would make the most of the touches that he was given. While Johnson mostly shines in the pass game, Tampa Bay could get a versatile veteran running back on their roster to pair with Rojo for cheap if the Texans continue on their current path.
