The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now considered the odds-on favorites to sign veteran free-agent QB Tom Brady, according to latest odds from Vegas.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now considered the odds-on favorites to sign Tom Brady, according to the latest odds from Oddshark.

The Buccaneers have reportedly shown major interest in signing Brady and are now one of the few franchises remaining in the sweepstakes, according to many NFL Insiders.

As a matter of fact, NBC Sports’ Chris Simms reported Sunday that just two teams remained in the Tom Brady sweepstakes- the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots.

As seen in the updated odds, the Buccaneers and Patriots are overwhelming favorites at this point for Brady.

Following the Patriots at No. 2, the Chargers come in third (+600 odds) and then the 49ers are still considered the fourth-most likely team (+1000 odds), despite reports that San Francisco was ‘out’ on Tom Brady.

Thoughts:

Though there are many skeptics among Tampa Bay circles that Brady would sign, there’s a reason that Vegas has the odds placed so highly on the Bucs.

Oddsmakers don’t take things like these likely and there has to be at least some interest being shown from Brady to Tampa, as well, for the Bucs to be considered the odds-favorites at this point.

It will be interesting to see what is floated from Brady’s camp over the next few days as he tries to gain leverage and put himself in the best situation possible.

Bruce Arians will certainly have a strong pitch for Brady during the free-agency period and it will be interesting to see who ends up as the starting QB in Tampa Bay before it’s all said and done.

Should Brady move on from the Buccaneers, it seems that the organization will pursue Teddy Bridgewater, Philip Rivers and consider re-signing Jameis Winston to fill the position.
