Despite the reports that the Buccaneers and Chargers are the two front-runners for Tom Brady, Los Angeles is also showing interest in a trade.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are considered one of the front-runners to win the services of Tom Brady, according to the latest reports from several NFL Insiders.

With Brady making the word official that he would not be returning to New England, things began to heat up Tuesday morning surrounding where he would land.

NFL Network analysts Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that Brady is expected to “go dark” while he makes his decision and that both the Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers had offered Brady sizeable contracts.

While the news of Brady leaving New England overtook the NFL world, news of the Buccaneers’ rival- the Carolina Panthers- followed shortly thereafter.

The Panthers announced that they were allowing QB Cam Newton to seek a trade. Newton, who has been the Panthers’ starter for nine seasons, suffered an injury that kept him out of action for most of the 2019 season.

With him potentially leaving Charlotte, things could look very different in terms of what we’ve grown accustomed to in the NFC South for the past few seasons.

However, the most interesting news in all of this was the reports of teams interested in potentially becoming trade partners with the Panthers.

Yahoo Sports’ Senior NFL Report Charles Robinson reported that the Chargers were among those most interested in pursuing a deal for Newton.

If the Chargers are truly wanting to pursue Newton, it could very well be because they don’t feel very confident in landing Brady.

It wouldn’t make much sense for an organization to show interest in other QBs if they felt as if they were in good shape with Brady moving forward.

It will be interesting to see how things shape out as Tom Brady’s free-agency progresses, but there are signs pointing towards Tampa Bay being a legitimate possibility at this point.
