The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are considered the front-runners to sign QB Tom Brady in NFL free-agency, according to the latest reports.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are inching ever so closely to signing QB Tom Brady in free-agency, according to the latest reports from NFL insiders.
Earlier Tuesday, it was believed that the Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers had jumped out as the front-runners to sign Brady once the quarterback announced that he would be leaving New England.
Both the Buccaneers and Chargers made “aggressive pitches” to Brady, which included offered deals for more than $30 million per year, according to Tom Pellisero.
Though many believed the Chargers would have the inside track- with Brady being a California native- NFL Network Analyst Jim Trotter reported Tuesday afternoon that the Chargers were out of the Brady sweepstakes, barring a change of heart.
For those playing along at home, if Tampa Bay and Los Angeles were considered the finalists and now the Chargers are reportedly out, that would only leave one team: The Buccaneers.
Until the deal is finished, things can change, but it’s looking really good right now for Tampa Bay.
Bruce Arians, Jason Licht and the entire front-office made it very clear that Brady was their top priority at quarterback during the 2020 free-agency period and it seems that they have done an excellent job at making a pitch to him and potentially getting the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to sign a deal.
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd said that Brady could sign with Tampa Bay as earlier as Wednesday.

We will continue to give updates as they are made available, but it seems that the Buccaneers will have a new quarterback under center next season and that will be the six-time Super Bowl winning veteran.
