Not to harp too much on the shortcomings of Jameis Winston, but Tom Brady has far more pocket presence than Jameis and his decision making is far better.

While the Buccaneer offensive line was anything but great in 2019, Winston did the defense favors at times by holding on to the football for too long which often led to sacks.

Even though the line is not as bad as the sack numbers indicate, the Buccaneers would be wise to still draft an offensive lineman as a replacement for Demar Dotson.

Fortunately for Tampa Bay, the first round of this year’s draft is filled with capable talent and the Bucs should see one of the top tackles available at the 14th pick or they could trade back and take a player like Josh Jones if Jedrick Wills, Mekhi Becton, Andrew Thomas, and Tristan Wirfs are off the board.

The top four tackles in this group often get the majority of the fanfare and rightfully so, but in reality, the Buccaneers could find an upgrade at the end of the first round or even in the second.

Regardless of who is taken, the Buccaneers need to have protection for Tom Brady and 2019 showed us that Demar Dotson and Donovan Smith are not up to the task as is.

Demar Dotson may have been a key part of the Buccaneer offensive line for several years, but Tampa Bay needs to realize that it is time to move on. Brady is not as mobile as Winston and will need a better tackle to pass block for him.

This pick is not specific, but the Bucs do need to make sure to find a suitable tackle to protect Tom Brady in this upcoming draft.
