The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially signed QB Tom Brady Friday morning, launching the organization into championship discussions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially announced the signing of QB Tom Brady Friday morning.

Brady, a six-time Super Bowl champion, is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Buccaneers, according to reports from Ian Rapaport.

The official Buccaneers website announced the signing and titled its headline ‘Tom Brady heading to Tampa Bay to chase championships.’

No matter what you think of the Tom Brady signing, the goal is clear moving forward: Bruce Arians, Jason Licht and the rest of the Buccaneers are ready to chase a championship right now, as you can see from the reactions from the Bucs players.

They’re not wanting to wait for a couple more years down the road. They’re putting all their eggs in one basket and hoping to be able to compete legitimately in the NFC over the next couple of seasons.

In addition to the official signing of Brady, Tampa Bay also reportedly signed OT Joe Haeg as a way to shore up that offensive line with the new quarterback at the helm. At this point, we’d still expect that the Buccaneers go after one of the top-four offensive tackles- Andrew Thomas, Tristan Wirfs, Mekhi Becton or Jedrick Wills Jr.- with that No. 14 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Since the report of Brady signing with Tampa Bay, season tickets for those new purchases have increased by 15 percent. There are thousands of fans lined up attempting to get tickets and there’s certainly a renewed hope coming into the season.

It will be interesting to see what other moves are made by the Bucs during the free-agency period and how Tampa goes about filling out its roster with Brady as the leader.
