2. Franchise Tagging Shaquil Barrett

The Bucs elected to use the franchise tag on Shaq Barrett and, honestly, that made a lot of sense.

Barrett was the leading pass-rusher in the NFL last season, but Tampa Bay wants to see if that can be duplicated in 2020 before giving him a big contract.

Securing Barrett on that franchise tag allows the organization to continue to evaluate him and will put him in line for a nice long-term deal at some point in the future.

Getting Barrett back was the No. 1 priority in terms of free-agents in the offseason and it was great to see Tampa lock him up with the tag.
