It is almost impossible to make a list for the Buccaneers bringing legends back without including Mike Alstott. The modern NFL may look different than the one that he dominated, but his talent goes beyond the eras.
While he may not hold the rushing yards title for the Bucs, Alstott makes a very compelling argument as the best running back in franchise history.
Despite being listed as a fullback for the majority of his career, if Mike Alstott was to come to the modern team he would likely be used more like a running back, but his versatility would give the 2020 Buccaneers a Swiss Army Knife in the backfield.
Most fans remember all the moments where Alstott would put his shoulder down and level a defender, or the times where it would take five players to slow him down and even then he would unsurprisingly escape from the pile on his feet, but his ability to catch the football would shine through in the modern era.
As far as pass-catchers for the Buccaneers are concerned, Mike Alstott is fifth all-time for all positions for the Bucs in total receptions. Today Alstott would look like Kyle Juszczyk in the current 49ers offense, but he would be a better runner and pass-catcher.
