Jameis Winston is no longer the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he has stayed in the news for some awesome reasons.
Tom Brady may be taking over the reins as the starting quarterback for the Buccaneers, but Jameis Winston is still a very big part of the news in Tampa Bay.
The former Buccaneer is looking for his next destination as a free agent and has made some big life changes, worked out plenty, continued to do charitable work, and even owned a Twitter exchange.
As far as the big personal news goes, Jameis Winston married longtime girlfriend, Breion. This time must be difficult for Jameis with the job search, but something like this transcends any of the bad. Make sure to congratulate the happy couple on Jameis’ Instagram!
The wedding may have been the most important thing for Winston and could be for a long time, but he has also continued to be heavily involved in charity work.

As seen in the above tweet, Jameis Winston is continuing to help people out by setting up a hotline to answer questions related to COVID-19. Say what you want about his play on the field, but this is a selfless act that deserves to be covered more than it is in the media.
Jameis Winston has always treated the people of Tampa Bay like family, and continuing to make moves like this despite being out of a job says a lot about his character.
Despite the two prior positive developments, the majority of the coverage on Jameis has been centered on his workouts that have been all over social media.

The above video has created the most buzz, with fans and former players debating the credibility of the unorthodox training regiment depicted in the video.
One of the biggest names to question the workout was the first overall pick for the Houston Texans in the 2002 NFL Draft, David Carr.
David Carr, who is widely considered to be one of the biggest draft busts of all time and is the brother of current Las Vegas Raider Derek Carr, took issue with the way that Jameis was working out. He offered Winston the following advice in response to the workout video:

The reception to Carr’s tweet was mixed. Some fans were quick to jump on with Carr and attack the workout, but Jameis handled his response in the perfect way.

Jameis Winston took the high road, and the general consensus is that he won this interchange. Winston played it off and didn’t take any shots at Carr while also posting a video showing a perfect example of the type of play that the workout is meant to simulate.
This is another great example of Jameis handling this situation with class when no one would blame him for blowing up given his current circumstances.
Jameis Winston will get his next shot soon with another NFL team. He will probably not sign on with a new team until after the 2020 NFL Draft in less than two weeks, but an opportunity will present itself.
Regardless of where he ends up next season, Jameis has not been idle this offseason. In the meantime, Buccaneer fans can still expect to see Jameis Winston in the Tampa Bay media until a decision on his future has been made.
