The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been linked to potentially trading up into the first-round and that trades need to be made for OT Mekhi Becton.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one of the major winners of the 2020 offseason to this point and it looks as if the franchise wants to keep that going heading into the NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers are one of the few teams in the draft who could be looking to trade-up in the first-round, according to reports from Albert Breer.

The Buccaneers are currently slated to pick at No. 14, but are considering moving up into the top-10 as a way to ensure that they are able to select one of the top-four offensive tackles and protect Tom Brady during the 2020 season.

If this can be done with, say a third-round pick and a 2021 second-rounder, it would absolutely be worth it because the truth is this: The Bucs are in ‘win now’ mode.

There isn’t much time left for Brady and when Tampa Bay struck the deal with the future Hall of Famer, it wasn’t with the next decade in mind. It was with the next couple of seasons. The Buccaneers want to win now and to do that, they are in dire need of a talented offensive tackle.

The answer is Mekhi Becton.

While any of those top-four offensive tackles would be great pick-ups for the Bucs, Becton is just on another level, in my opinion. He has the greatest length and measurables of the group and has a really high upside.

He will be the type of player who can come in and start from Day 1, but has the potential and upside to continue to get better, develop and become a Pro Bowler later in his career.

Becton is the answer for the present and the future. He’s a 6-foot-7, 368-pound monster who would be more than enthused with the assignment of protecting Tom Brady as a rookie.
