What if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers elected to go in a different direction in the first-round than what conventional wisdom suggests?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have some important decisions to make when it comes to the 2020 NFL Draft in just a couple of days.

The Buccaneers are expected to take an offensive tackle with their first pick in the draft, but what if one of those top-four aren’t available? What if the Bucs are sold on another offensive tackle who they could get in the second-round?

Here’s a complete mock draft for what the Buccaneers could do if they elected to address the wide receiver position in the first-round.

Yes, we all know that the preferred pick here would be an offensive tackle. But can you imagine adding a player of Jerry Jeudy’s caliber to a wide receiver group that already includes Mike Evans and Chris Godwin? It would be an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses.

Here’s what would need to happen, though, for this to make sense. If the Bucs can’t get one of those top-four offensive tackles, Ezra Cleveland would be the perfect answer. Cleveland is a guy who could come in and start right away at that right tackle position and would be an absolute steal for the Bucs here.

Sticking with the offensive side of the ball, the Bucs could get yet another baller here at pick No. 76 with Antonio Gibson, who is a great play-maker. Gibson is a guy who can catch the ball out of the backfield and be a talented runner.

If you want to add a quality depth piece to the defensive line, Alton Robinson is the answer. Robinson has the potential to turn into a lethal pass-rusher and would be a great addition to that front-seven.

Leki Fotu is the answer for the Bucs as they look for a future replacement for Ndamukong Suh. Fotu is a run-stopper with incredible ability who has skill to be a much higher upside pick.

J.R. Reed is a guy who has some question marks at the safety position, but he would be able to develop behind those talented young safeties along the depth chart.

Dane Jackson is a cornerback who has the talent to be a Round 3-5 prospect and the Bucs would be able to shore up that secondary with their final pick in the draft.
