Will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade up in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft? There’s certainly a case for the move to be made.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are tasked with coming away with an offensive tackle in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers have been linked to each of the top-four offensive tackles in the draft class- Mekhi Becton (Louisville), Jedrick Wills Jr. (Alabama), Andrew Thomas (Georgia) and Tristan Wirfs (Iowa)- but there’s a legitimate chance that all four are gone before Tampa Bay’s No. 14 overall selection.

What does this mean for the Buccaneers? Well, that may mean the franchise has to sellout to trading up in the first-round.

The Bucs have been linked to potentially becoming trade partners with teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and others as a way to get inside the top-10.

The only question is figuring out if trading up will be absolutely necessary. It’s looking more and more likely as inch closer to the start of the draft.

So, what would it take for Tampa Bay to ascend up into the top-10 of the draft?

While the asking price will be different for every team, it would almost assuredly take the Bucs giving up their No. 14 overall pick and another mid-round pick, in addition to a future pick, as well.

It may look something similar to this: The Bucs trade their first-round pick and a third rounder, as well as a future second-rounder to move up into the top-10. While that may seem like a lot of draft capital to give- and it certainly is- it still will be the right move as opposed to missing out on the top-four offensive tackle prospects.

The Buccaneers are in ‘win-now’ mode. That means they have to find an answer at right tackle in this draft as a way to protect Tom Brady.

There’s no room for missing out on the most important decision in the draft, so that very well could lead to the franchise coming into the event with a sense of urgency and trading up before it’s all said and done.
