The Tampa Bay Buccaneers miraculously drafted Tristan Wirfs, but now the real decisions start as the second and third rounds for the Bucs are more ambiguous.

There was a trade-up involved, but the Buccaneers have found their new starting offensive tackle, Tristan Wirfs.

Tampa Bay traded up one spot to secure Wirfs even though it seemed possible that the 49ers were going to draft a different position, but in the end, guaranteeing Wirfs was a massive win for the team.

While the outlook on the tackles in this class is split, many analysts had Wirfs as the best tackle of the group. Wirfs mixes a sizable amount of immediate talent as well as a high ceiling for the future.

The Bucs will likely miss their fourth-round pick very little as it was probably going to be used to provide depth at a different spot. Regardless of any other position that could’ve been taken, the Buccaneers needed to guarantee themselves a tackle more than anything else.

With the first round diverging a decent amount from most projections, Tampa Bay is in a great position to make the most of their second and third-round picks.

One of the biggest surprises of the first round was the drafting of Clyde Edwards-Helaire by the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the night. CEH has been mocked to the Buccaneers in almost ever projection that has come out at the 45th pick, but the Chiefs making this decision actually frees the Buccaneers up.

With what can only be assumed to be their favorite running back off the board, the Bucs have several different directions that they can go in the second round to address more glaring positions of need.

There are still several positions that will immediately help Tampa Bay if they are filled this early, and the Buccaneers need to be mindful of how they navigate Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft. Here are some of the best options from the players available.
