The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won big during the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft Thursday night, but here’s why Friday will be the most exciting.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers elected to trade up one spot Thursday night to select OT Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers came into the draft knowing that they needed to address the offensive tackle position and were able to come away with their guy when it was all said and done.

Though Buccaneers nation was extremely excited about the prospect of strengthening the offensive line Thursday night in the first-round, Day 2 will prove to be the most exciting for Tampa Bay.

Why Day 2 is the most exciting…

On Friday night, we will get to see the Buccaneers make presumably two draft picks- though there are rumors they could potentially trade to get another in one of the two rounds (Round 2-3). They currently have the No. 45 overall pick (second-round) and the No. 76 overall pick (third-down).

Why will Day 2 be the most exciting?

Well, it’s the sheer fact that the picks will be a surprise.

The only intrigue when it came to Tampa Bay last night was if an offensive tackle would fall to them at No. 14 or if they would trade up to get one of those top-four offensive tackles. There was a small question that they could trade back or reach with another offensive tackle pick at No. 14, but the position was never in question: The Bucs were going offensive tackle the entire time.

That’s not necessarily the case tonight.

Many Buccaneers fans expect Tampa Bay to address the running back position at some point tonight with names like J.K. Dobbins, D’Andre Swift, Cam Akers, Antonio Gibson or A.J. Dillon on the board either in the second or third round. Others would like to see one of those top safeties like Grant Delpit, Xavier McKinney or Antoine Winfield Jr.

Could we see the Bucs go ahead and address the defensive line or wide receiver position?

The fact of the matter is that there will be intrigue tonight surrounding Tampa Bay than on Thursday night. The Buccaneers have some major decisions to make and these second-round and third-round prospects are still guys who could be major contributors in year one.
