Ke’Shawn Vaughn
While he will likely not be the primary running back for the Buccaneers, Ke’Shawn Vaughn also has a chance to make the Pro Bowl as a Buccaneer rookie. Vaughn is pegged to become the primary receiving back for the Bucs and could earn national recognition alongside his new quarterback.
Tom Brady leans heavily on running backs as pass-catchers, and Vaughn could take massive strides as a receiver in the new system that is forming around Brady
One of the most important players for Brady in recent years has been running back James White. Brady targeted White 95 times in 2019, and the drafting of Vaughn implicates that the Buccaneers plan to use their running backs in the passing game more in 2020.
White has never been the most explosive player, especially running the football, but Vaughn has the potential to be a big-play machine in the NFL and could produce even with a lower volume than his Patriot counterpart.
It is a tall task for an RB2 to make the Pro Bowl, especially as a rookie, but Alvin Kamara showed that this is not an impossibility. Kamara was explosive as a runner and as a receiver, and in the Buccaneer offense Ke’Shawn Vaughn can likely play a similar role.
Ronald Jones may hold on to the title of RB1, but Vaughn, in the third-down role, has a massive upside for 2020.
