The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will officially release their schedule tonight and rumor has it they’ll have quite the match-up on their hands to begin the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will officially release their 2020 schedule tonight, along with the rest of the NFL.

As Buccaneers fans wait with intrigue, reports from New Orleans Saints Reporter Nick Underhill said the NFC South will take center stage early on in the season. According to his reports, the Buccaneers and Saints will open up against one another on Week 1 during the 4:25 p.m. slot.

While Bucs fans should be reminded that this is all still speculation until we here for certain, if true, this would be quite blockbuster match-up to kick off the season.

Tom Brady and Drew Brees have only played against one another five times in their respective careers and we’re about to see a season where they will play each other two times in the regular season with a chance to play a third in the postseason.

Can you imagine the amount of excitement and anticipation that will build if we see the Buccaneers and Saints in Week 1?

We’d be talking about a match-up that would bring in a national viewing audience and place all eyes on Tampa Bay and New Orleans right out of the gate. Talk about a way to jump start a season that has playoff hopes written all on it for the franchise.

Here’s a look at the opponents for the Buccaneers in 2020:

Home:

  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Los Angeles Chargers

  • New Orleans Saints

Away:

  • Carolina Panthers
  • Chicago Bears
  • Denver Broncos
  • Detroit Lions

It will be interesting to see what the schedule looks like when it’s released and what games the Bucs potentially get in prime-time.
