With deep playoff aspirations firmly in place for the Buccaneers, the required success of the team has never been more critical. Living up to these expectations could completely change the future outlook for Tampa Bay, but falling short could dig a deeper hole.
The Bucs have, in some ways, started the process of leveraging their future for current success. Jameis Winston was going to be a better option than Tom Brady in two or three years, but the Buccaneers decided to move on from their young quarterback for a proven veteran option.
In addition to Brady, the Bucs have also traded for Rob Gronkowski, another questionable move for the future, but a reliable option for winning right now.

The aura around the team may feel like Super Bowl or bust as it stands, but just making the playoffs and winning a game should be seen as a massive win. The Super Bowl isn’t an impossibility, but reality should be a part of the expectations going forward.
