The 2020 season already has some high potential for the Buccaneers, and while it is a long shot, a trip to the Super Bowl is not out of the question.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have not made the playoffs since 2007. This is one of the worst playoff droughts in the NFL, yet somehow the Bucs are a new favorite to make a run at the Super Bowl in 2020 as the NFC representation.

To some, this showcases how large of an impact Tom Brady has on a team. The Bucs went 7-9 last season, played most of their games close, and were far from a bad team, but a jump of this magnitude still comes as a surprise.

Despite his many accomplishments throughout his career, some fans seem to believe that Brady will actually be a step back from Jameis Winston, citing Brady’s pedestrian 2019 season and Winston leading the league in passing yards in the same year. Those fans may see Brady as a wrong move, but the rest of the NFL has a different opinion on the matter.

The Bucs are getting media coverage that hasn’t been seen in years. Tampa Bay is back on the map, and the newfound recognition could be make or break for the future of the franchise.

Let’s say the chemistry on the team isn’t right, and the Buccaneers finish the season at 8-8 or 9-7 and miss out on the playoffs. Tampa Bay goes from being a desirable place for free agents to sign and a media favorite right back down to a place of limited relevance, if any.

To keep this from happening, the Bucs have to win a single playoff game, at least, but the real ceiling for this team is an appearance at the Super Bowl.

This would be no easy task, but with the proven pieces on both sides of the ball, the Buccaneers have a two-year window with this team to make it to a Super Bowl.

This goal may seem lofty, but these five decisions would give Tampa Bay the best shot at a Super Bowl.
