Buccaneers: 3 reasons signing Clay Matthews is the next move
2. His talent is still prevalent
As we said earlier, this isn’t the same Clay Matthews as what we all remember from a few years ago, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still play.
Matthews, who could step into an OLB role as a potential starter and certainly as a key back-up, wouldn’t be asked to do the same things that he had done the past decade in Green Bay and last season in Los Angeles.
Matthews is a guy who could come in and still find a way to play a valuable role on a team, even if he’s not a Pro Bowl level linebacker any more.
