Though Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are hoping for a successful run during the 2020 season, one computer simulation has doubts about the team.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the most exciting franchises in the league coming into the 2020 season.

The Buccaneers came into the offseason with little expectations- at least nationally- and that abruptly changed with Tampa Bay signed QB Tom Brady.

The Bucs followed that signing up with a trade for TE Rob Gronkowski and then a successful 2020 NFL Draft that included the selection of OT Tristan Wirfs in the first-round.

As we inch closer to the start of the season, the Buccaneers have gone from a team that many expected to win somewhere in the range of 7-9 games to becoming a team that many are predicting to be a darkhorse for the Super Bowl.

The latest win totals from the Action Network suggest the Buccaneers could win more than 10 games.

While many fans are excited about the prospect of what could happen during this season, one computer simulation has its doubts about how Tom Brady and the Bucs will perform.

Wolverine Studios ran 100 simulations with the new roster for Tampa Bay and the average had the Bucs coming out with a 9-7 record. Wolverine Studios is an independent modeling site that looks to provide realistic and accurate projections to fans.

Though a 9-7 record would likely seem disappointing to Buccaneers fans with all of the hype coming into the season, the truth is that a 9-7 finish to the regular season would get Tampa Bay into the playoffs and at the very least end the streak of 12-straight seasons without a postseason bid.

9-7 obviously wouldn’t be good enough to win the NFC South division- at least one wouldn’t think so- but a wild-card berth would be more than conceivable with that record.

In the end, Bucs fans will hope for much more- and rightly so- but it will be interesting to see just what happens when it’s time for the season to be played out on the field.
