Michael Bennett

A former Buccaneer, Michael Bennett has bounced around the league since his time in Tampa Bay. After spending some time on multiple Super Bowl contenders, it’s fitting that Bennett could be a candidate to return to one of his former teams that has now become relevant.

After his opportunities started to slow down in 2019, Bennett may not be looking for a massive contract or starting reps. Perhaps Bennett is just looking for a Super Bowl contender that he can make an impact on.

Bennett has predominantly been a defensive end in a 4-3 for the majority of his career. The transition to outside linebacker could take some time to get used to, but Bennett’s level of play is exactly what the Bucs should be looking for in their EDGE3.

With only one start in 2020, Bennett was able to post 6.5 sacks, which bodes well for his opportunity to produce on limited reps with the Buccaneers. In addition to those sacks, Bennett is a proven veteran presence who also has a decent amount of experience in the playoffs.

Assuming a contract can get worked out, Michael Bennett returning to Tampa Bay would be an excellent move for both parties involved.
