Three players that could be traded to the Buccaneers by the beginning of the season
By Seth Hibel
Jamal Adams, S, New York Jets
Since being drafted 6th overall by the Jets in 2017, Jamal Adams hasn’t looked back. He has established himself as an elite force in the NFL and one of the best current players at the safety position.
Adams has hit a level of personal success that you want to see out of a player that had such high potential coming into the NFL.
Adams has also displayed admirable and infectious confidence that could do wonders for the young and inexperienced Buccaneers secondary.
Adams recently has experienced a rocky relationship with the Jets’ front office. When they started shopping him at the trade deadline last season, it soured the relationship significantly.
Adams understandably felt disrespected, and it seemed like he started thinking that he belonged elsewhere. That somewhere else should be Tampa Bay. Adams already knows Todd Bowles‘ defense considering Bowles was the head coach for Adams’ first two years in New York.
A reunion could be in order, especially with some people believing that contract extension talks between Adams and the Jets have come to a halt.
It would probably take a perfect storm for the Jets to give up entirely on Adams, but their front office has made many questionable moves over the years.
