2. Tagging Shaquil Barrett

Shaq Barrett is the best edge-rusher in the league and the Buccaneers did the right thing using a franchise tag on him for this season.

The organization and Barrett were attempting to come to terms on a long-term deal over the course of this offseason, but elected to use the franchise tag when it was all said and done.

The franchise tag gives Tampa Bay an opportunity to evaluate Barrett for a longer amount of time and gives the two parties a change to come to an agreement.

For the 2020 season, having Barrett back means the Bucs will have one of the top pass-rushing units in the league and that is always a good sign for a team that is trying to make a run at a postseason berth.
