Clay Matthews, Outside linebacker

One of the biggest favorites for the Buccaneers to sign this offseason is outside linebacker, Clay Matthews. Matthews would be pretty cheap for the Bucs to bring in and would provide the perfect level of veteran depth needed for a playoff run.

Tampa Bay already has an excellent pass-rushing duo, but they need to have the depth for rest or unique formations.

Matthews would’ve been an expensive option back in the day, but at this point in his career, the Bucs could likely sign him without having to make any massive moves.

If this were the case, the Buccaneers would only be paying a few million dollars for a player than can provide playoff experience and a high level of play if Shaquil Barrett or Jason Pierre-Paul are off the field.

Matthews is coming off of an impressive season with the LA Rams and would still only cost the Buccaneers around three million dollars, a steal for a player of this caliber.

If Matthews expresses a real interest in playing in Tampa Bay, his price will likely be a perfect fit for the remaining cap space, and the Bucs could make this deal happen very quickly.
