1. Shaquil Barrett

Shaq Barrett tops our list because of one simple reason: His pass-rushing ability.

For this 3-4 defensive scheme to work, you have to have explosive and successful edge-rushers. Barrett was the league’s leader in sacks (19.5) last season.

This year, he’s tasked with continuing that momentum and finding a way to have that kind of success yet again.

He doesn’t have to lead the league in sacks, but he does have to be one of the top edge-rushers if the Bucs want to have a shot at having an elite defense.
