Jamal Adams would be reunited with former head coach Todd Bowles.

The Buccaneer defense was inconsistent at times in 2019, but the outlook is incredibly optimistic for 2020. If the Bucs can keep improving their secondary as seen at the end of last season, Tampa Bay could have one of the best defensive units in the league next season.

A massive portion of this defensive success has come from Todd Bowles and his new defensive system. Few coaches in the NFL are more skilled defensively than Bowles is, and the Bucs have several players flourishing in his system that may have gone unnoticed otherwise.

Jamal Adams is a unique talent at safety with the ability to play most defensive positions with ease. His versatility would allow him to fit in on the Buccaneer defense immediately, and Todd Bowles would be the perfect coach to get the most out of the young safety.

If Todd Bowles is trying to put the best results on the field in an attempt to earn another head coaching job down the road, he will have an excellent chance to push the front office to make this trade happen now.

Making this move would take some of the pressure off of Todd Bowles’ shoulders, and he would be able to plug Adams in across the defense to wreak havoc on opposing offenses.
