Sign free agent OLB Yannick Ngakoue

The Buccaneers love their pass-rushing tandem of Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett, but the question has to be asked about how many more years JPP can keep this pace up. His production has been solid, but he is getting older and more expensive, and the Bucs could be in the market for a cheaper option next year.

Yannick Ngakoue has gone through an interesting few months after getting franchise tagged by the Jaguars despite his clear message that he was looking for a change of scenery.

The 25-year-old pass rusher has made it clear that he won’t play, and Jacksonville looks set to hold on to Ngakoue despite any holdouts. The situation shows no signs of improving anytime soon, and if it continues at this pace for a year, Ngakoue will be a free agent option for the Bucs.

Tampa Bay will already have some serious money invested in pass rushers by that point just with Barrett, but going all in and improving one of the most pivotal positions in the sport is a safe use of resources.

Ngakoue and Barrett would both be signing contracts simultaneously, and the Buccaneers would be set with a young and talented pass rush for years to come with this signing.
