LeSean McCoy is now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, and the team is continuing to take steps towards being one of the best in the league in 2020.

Signing LeSean McCoy was not a move that most Bucs fans had on their 2020 offseason Bingo card. The past few months have been anything but ordinary, but this signing still comes as a surprise.

The Buccaneers realistically have five backs on their team that can make the final roster. Even before the McCoy signing, the running back room looked poised to be more competitive than in recent years. The franchise seemed firmly behind Ronald Jones, two draft picks were spent on backs with different skill sets, and Tampa Bay also had contributors from 2020 returning.

McCoy joining the fold muddies the water substantially. What was once seen as confidence in Jones now looks like a hint of doubt, and the previous expectations on this unit will have to change to meet the new standard.

Although it may be a surprise, change is not a bad thing. The Bucs will need their best run game in years if they hope to reach their massive expectations, and Shady is a player that can help through the following three reasons.
