Michael Bennett

Michael Bennett may be recently retired, but the Buccaneers have shown that retirement is not enough to stop them from pursuing a player. Bennett is 34 years old, yet he still has the ability to contribute on a roster and could get a chance to return to his former team for another shot at a Super Bowl.

As previously mentioned, the Buccaneers still need help with their pass rush. The current group may not cut it if any injuries occur, and Bennett has the incentive to play on a team-friendly deal.

Bennett has been consistent throughout his career, and he makes the most of his reps. Despite only starting one game last season, Bennett had 6.5 sacks on the year, meaning that his efficiency would not be in danger on the Buccaneers.

It may be a long shot to pursue a player in retirement to play on a team where nothing is guaranteed, but players have been persuaded to return from retirement in the past. Leaving the game is not as easy as it may appear, and Bennett could find that a second stint with the Buccaneers is a better way to end his career, rather than a disappointing finish with the Cowboys.
