Three Tampa Bay Buccaneers most affected by the latest roster addition

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed RB Leonard Fournette to a one-year deal earlier this week as they continue to prepare for the upcoming 2020 season.

Fournette, who averages exactly 4.0 yards per carry during his career, was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars and will join a plethora of talented skill players in Tampa Bay.

While we’ve already seen one player affected greatly by Fournette’s signing- RB Dare Ogunbowale, who was cut on Friday– there are others who are going to be affected by him joining the roster, as well.

Here’s a look at the top three Buccaneers still on the roster who will be affected the most by the addition of Fournette.

1. LeSean McCoy

LeSean McCoy is the third-string running back now with the addition of Fournette and he’s going to see his role diminished quite a bit.

McCoy had pretty much locked up that second-string spot during Training Camp and was going to be a great complimentary piece to Ronald Jones II during the season. With Fournette now taking carries, we very well might not see much of McCoy at all.

Fournette is a guy who can battle for those tough 3rd down yards and there’s no doubt that the coaches are going to focus on that duo, rather than veteran McCoy who will be asked to play special teams and carry the ball a minimal amount of times.
