Three keys to a victory for the Buccaneers against the Saints in the season-opener

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel over to New Orleans to take on their NFC South rival New Orleans Saints in a game that promises to be exciting.

The Buccaneers are currently listed as a 3.5-point underdog to the Saints and many don’t seem to be giving Tampa Bay much of a chance at all, but there are reasons to believe they can still compete and even come away with a win before it’s all said and done.

As we prepare for the Buccaneers to open their season, here’s a look at three keys to victory this weekend.

3. Win the turnover margin

If the Bucs want to win the game, they have to win the turnover margin. There’s really no way around it.

In Tampa’s defensive scheme, you’ve got to create pressure and get turnovers. That’s especially true when you’re playing a team of the caliber of the Saints.

The Bucs have to find a way to force an interception or a fumble, particularly early, to gain some momentum and give their offense another possession. On the flip side, the offense has to be careful with the ball and refrain from giving it back to New Orleans.
