Panthers starting CB Donte Jackson was injured last week, but the organization received a pleasant surprise in his replacement.

According to advanced statistics by Pro Football Focus, Jackson’s replacement- Rasul Douglas- finished as one of the top-10 cornerbacks in the league in Week 1.

Questions still remain about Jackson’s availability, but it’s clear that the Panthers may have found a diamond in the ruff in Douglas, who they claimed off of waivers. He had a solid performance last week and is definitely a player that Tampa Bay fans should keep their eyes on this week.
