The rushing attack

As good as the passing game was Sunday afternoon- and minus just a few blunders, it was very good- the rushing attack was equally opposite in many respects.

Ronald Jones II was able to get a little bit going on his 13 carries for 53 yards (4.1 YPC) and Leonard Fournette was basically stuffed all afternoon- though he was used in many short yardage situations- coming away with seven carries for just 15 yards (2.1 YPC).

This isn’t to say that the rushing attack is bad or that it didn’t have a couple of bright spots, but for the most part it was nonexistent and that’s something we need to see addressed as the season moves forward.

The second half offense

Let’s just call it what it is, the second half has not been kind to the Tampa Bay offense this season.

Here’s a log on how they performed Sunday in the second half:

  • Punt
  • Punt
  • Punt
  • Field Goal
  • Punt

The Bucs have to find a way to address the second half offense and come away with better results moving forward.

Godwin & Murphy-Bunting injuries

Perhaps the biggest dud of the day was the hamstring injuries suffered by Chris Godwin and Sean Murphy-Bunting.

Both guys are going to be huge parts of the roster moving forward and the hope is that they won’t miss any significant time, but there’s no doubt they’ll be missed if they do, indeed, have to be held out.
