The third round may be too early to invest a pick in a wide receiver for a team with the best duo in the league, but surrounding Tom Brady with as many weapons as possible is never a bad idea.

Tampa Bay doesn’t have many glaring needs, so building depth at one of the team’s most volatile positions is an excellent use of the pick. This year, Chris Godwin has been injured twice, and Justin Watson is also out with injury. It is also worth mentioning that Mike Evans and Scotty Miller have also recently struggled with injuries.

The Buccaneers have done well with the next man up mentality, but adding in another proven player like Tylan Wallace could ease some of the pressure put on Godwin and Evans staying healthy.

Wallace is excellent at making plays after the catch, very similar to Chris Godwin, and we have all seen how well that works in the Buccaneer offense. Wallace could step in and compete for the third role from early on, and he would give the Bucs more opportunities to air the ball out.

Wallace has averaged 17.2 yards per reception during his four years at Oklahoma State to go along with 20 touchdowns, and this offense prowess would immediately help the Buccaneers with a deep playoff push.
