Tom Brady

Tom Brady’s name hasn’t jumped off the stat sheet, but his impact on the Buccaneer offense has been evident. Tampa Bay’s offense isn’t putting up the same number of points as last season, but Brady’s consistency has made the Buccaneer offense one of the most dangerous in the league.

By this time last season, Jameis Winston was coming off a significant loss versus the New York Giants. Still, statistically, he was one of the primary candidates for NFC Offensive Player of the Year. Brady hasn’t received the same hype, but their roles have been very different.

Brady and Winston are playing in two completely different offenses, and Brady has even shown in the first two games that interceptions are often a given in a Bruce Arians-led offense, though perhaps not at the rate that Winston threw them.

Brady is missing out on the massive stat lines primarily because of penalties and dropped passes. The Buccaneers have failed to put together a full game, and the play-calling has stifled Brady’s abilities to put up points, but stats aren’t the only determinant of the Pro Bowl.

If Brady keeps playing at this level and continues to show his impressive deep accuracy while minimizing turnovers, the new Buccaneer quarterback should be well on his way to a Pro Bowl in year 21.
